WEIRD PHONE CALL: Downton Abbey

This is an account of a strange conversation I had with a man about Downton Abbey, I sent it as a letter to the staff member who transfered who left, letting her know what she is missing out on.

Hello Jess,

It's not the same without you here - no one to tell silly little stories to!

Do you get werid phone calls in XXXX yet?

We had a man call up on Monday who waffled on for 20 mins about how he was 'incenced' that Downton Manner just has TOO many adds. He "normally doesn't get on the blower like this," but he was just SO angry cause he has been looking forward to watching the 'UK and US Gigantic Hit, fabulous production' for weeks.

He also said,  "The viewing public disgracefully, they held us to contempt."

He 'didn't want to watch though with all the adds, too DISTRESSING." AND "I'll have to go find the DVD now, do you think they'll have it at JB Hi Fi,"

So I said, 'No...cause it's new out, do you have the internet?' He answered, "I don't have time for the silly internet so I'll have to get my nephews to help me, they're all tech savvy."

He 'would like an apology letter for something they ruined' that he 'was really looking forward to.' as "I know how these things work, I used to be in the film and tv industry, I worked on that television program The Sullivans."

Also, he "didn't start to like the run of adds about the woman on the diet, the woman at the gym and then the one about the women who had constipation!!!!"

So would you be happy to send it?  Here is his real address:

XXXXXX
XXXX
XXXXXXX
XXXXX %^&%*

As you can see, I wrote a fair bit of the one ended conversation down. Please don't forget about the apology card, he's really furious and 'distressed.'.

Thank you,

Sarah

RANDOM QUESTION: Do you want to be a Cheeky Tiger or Do you want to be a Cheeky Cat?

Do you want to be a CHEEKY TIGER or Do you want to be a CHEEKY CAT?

There is no particular reason for this question..it just popped into you.

Answer how you like and please tell me your definition or reason for choosing it. We all have a bit of fun inside us.

Below are some images to amuse and inspire.

(And why when I google 'Cheeky Tiger' do multiple photos of Tiger Woods come up and none of actual tigers?)

DO YOU NEED INSPIRATION? Watch this clip from Rocky 4

Just quietly, I am not a fan of the Rocky films. I don't dislike them but have never had a great deal of interest or excitement in them. But I do aknowledge that this clip is marvelous. If you are looking for a boost, you've found it here. This clip embodies the essence of moving on and overlooking all the horrible things that one thinks and has happens to them on the way - not to get dragged into that dark hole of lack of self belief. It reminds you to listen to your self as well as being strong minded.

AN OPEN LETTER TO THE ANDROID USERS OF THE WORLD

Dear Android Users,

I know you have fabulous, amazing, fun and exciting phones - personally, I admire you everyday as I long to have an iphone, blackberry, samsung galaxy...you know the gang.

However, you are very rude with your phones. You bury your knows in them just expecting that it is acceptable to sit there and look things up on them. I understand they are overly addictive but you need to remember that if you didn't have your phone and you were looking at someone exhibiting your behaviour, you would find it annoying, rude and unacceptable.

So next time you put your hand in your pocket to rip out your stylish phone and check something pointless..stop for a minute and don't not take it out. Instead engage in the art of conversation. Give the people around you the respect and time they deserve. I am sure you will be better for it.

Kind regards,

Sarah Lawrence

In the spotlight again: MR NICK BRACKS - VOTE VOTE VOTE!

Blog followers will know, my most popular blogs have been about Nick Bracks. So in honour of the great, young, entrepeneurial, energetic man, I would like to announce my number one vote in Cleo Bachelor 2011  will be him.
I admire him. He has theoretically failed and been in the spot light a few times for car crashes and drunken behaviour. But hey! He has a lot of spunk and up & go about him as he is one of Melbourne's most in demand socialites, has a terrific business brain, charm, confidence and charisma to move on and make a success of himself. The gorgeous young man will also be on Dancing With The Stars soon - he will no doubt become even more popular but I think that is great - he has worked hard, had his ups and downs thus he deserves the attention and fun. He must have an extremely good social skills and charm - I'm sure much of it is natural talents and on Nicks own accord but growing up in a political household must have allowed him to develop a trick or two. You can just tell by looking at him he is going to go far! Good on you Nick - Hope you win both the Cleo Bachelor* and Dancing with The Stars.

To vote for him go here http://www.cleo.com.au/bachelor2011-profile-nick-bracks.htm

*And just for record, Nick is actually a Bachelor. Unlike some of the others in the competition who I know have girlfriends. So Nick is a genuine vote for the win.

This looks Amazing!: PAPER GIANTS

I get filled with excitement and inspiration when I see the trailer for this new show paper giants about the birth of Cleo magazine. It looks phenomenal.

CELEBRITIES I AM THINKING ARE FABULOUS RIGHT NOW

Tom Waterhouse

SWIM SWIM SWIM

Went for a swim today. Was in one of these restless I don't know what do with myself moods at about 7pm because I had had an early dinner. Swimming balances the moods sometimes I think. It is calming and puts you in a restful place. The negative ions in the water are supposed to bring you a sense of peacefulness as I was once told by a naturopath who said surfers get grumpy when they don't get out in the water for a few days. In my first year of university I was a swim teacher, it was fully being back in the water and trying to focus on some of the techniques I used to teach on myself. I think I would be a much better swim teacher today if I had to go back to it.

MY SUNGLASSES

These are my sunglasses...and I LOVE THEM! They can dress up any outfit and are oh so classy!

QUIETLY IMPRESSED: Make Up Forever Ad

This ad is one of the first to not photoshop heavily for a make up ad. I'm impressed. The make up ads have often done my head in and made me feel inferior as my brain has been tricked into thinking all skin is perfect like the ones in the ad. So thank you Make Up Forever - hope your sales sky rocket!

TASHA WISDON - Number 9

This is Tasha, a 2.5 year old Labrador cross German Short Haired Pointer.

She is has been very busy lately, running the household and protecting it from the naughty cat Mittens who lives over the road but sometimes tries to play in the front garden and sing at the top of her voice John Farnham's greatest hits which really hurts little Tashie's ears.

Recently she was in a big accident that was filmed. It made it to YouTube and luckily she walked away unharmed, only a little shaken.

Here is her wisdom for today:

FUNNY MOVIE: The Switch

This movie is hilarious. The topic of the movie is a little strange and looking at it, you might think it could be quite uncomfortable to watch. It is really funny, however, and the creators have done a wonderful job of making it an enjoyable movie to watch. Special mention to the little boy in the film, Sebastien played by Thomas Robinson - he is absolutely adorable and so so so amusing, he will most definitely make you laugh. Anyone seen the movie? What did you think?

NEW FAVOURITE SONG: Catasrophe by Julia Stone

I absolutely adore this song. It is so gorgeous and chilled out. Very relaxing to listen to. Julia Stone is a genius. I recently heard this on triple J at the ridiculous time of 6am in the morning, I have not since heard it anywhere else and had to go though almost every Julia Stone clip in YouTube to find it so thank you to the delightful person who uploaded it. The song should be far more popular than what it is as it is so adorable.

Lyrics

It seems like every road we walk
Catastrophe awaits us
It seems like every time we talk
Catastrophe awaits us
And I know that we're just two strangers
Looking for the some idea
Looking for the some idea

It seems like every time we touch
Catastrophe awaits us
It seems like every time we touch
Devil eyes endanger
And I know that you're just a wager
For me, to put my last pair of shoes on

And we wait for something beautiful
And we wait for something beautiful

It seems like every road we walk
Catastrophe awaits us
Catastrophe awaits us
It seems like every time we talk
You've got it all
You've got me
Don't be scared of all those horror movies

And we wait for something beautiful
And we wait for something beautiful
And we wait for something beautiful
And we wait for something beautiful

SMART ADVERTISING: Jennifer Aniston Goes Viral

At the time of writing this, this clip has over 8 millions hits. It is very clever and kudos to the genius advertisers who thought of it. It is GOLD in great advertising. What do you think of it?

MUM AND DAD: Hello

Mum and Dad. Just thought I'd randomly put them up on here. They're having fun.

You are both now on my blog - you now have a reason to understand what a blog is instead of avoiding it. Thanks.

Apologies

Hello readers, followers, lovers, haters, friends, family, relatives, animals, children and randoms,

My most sincere apologies for going MIA (missing in action) over the past few months.

I am back on track now and will be posting more often.

Pier to Pub: Southern Hemisphere's Biggest Ocean Swim

I was lucky enough to go along to the Pier to Pub in Lorne to take some photos. It was the third time I had gone along to take photos and it is an amazing event - great energy and lots of fun. It was also lovely weather this year, nice and flat water for the swimmers that makes things easy for them. Afterwards is lots of fun too, going up to the club house and having a wine over looking the gorgeous beach and meeting lots of other familiar faces - this year my friend Caitlyn stopped by as well, we had a good time mingling with everyone. View the photos here - http://sarahlawrencephotography.blogspot.com/p/other-events.html
